Zan’s Minimap Mod for Minecraft adds a little Minimap to Minecraft.
By default, you will find the minimap in the upper right corner of the UI, however the options following this mod allows this to be customized to any of the other corners of your screen.
You can also change the size of the minimap, chose whether it shall display coordinates or not, make the map static pointing north, or follow the direction you are facing and so on.
Zan’s Minimap Mod also includes a cavemap, a nethermap and a radar that will show nearby points of interest and mobs on the map, if you have turned it on from the options.
Here are the default key-bindings of the mod:
“Z” will cycle through the various zoom levels of the minimap.
“B” will add a waypoint of your current location to the map, making it easier to find your way back, or useful if you want to mark a certain location.
“M” will open the minimaps options, allowing you to customize it in several ways, toggle the rader on or off, change the keybindings and so on.
Included in the mob is also a full map, that unlike the one you can craft, also shows unexplored locations from the get-go. To open this, press “X”.
You can also bind an unbound key that toggles whether or not mobs will show up on the map in the options.
In the options, you can also chose whether or not to display the map of all, so you can “turn it off” without having to delete it completely.
This mod does not require Minecraft Forge, but having that installed makes this, and a lot of other mods, much easier to install, so it is recommended.
