Better Archery Mod for Minecraft 1.6.2

The Better Archery Mod for Minecraft is a mod aimed at improving the archery portion of Minecraft.

One of the ways this mod does that is through the new bows and arrows added with this mod.

Note: this mod requires Minecraft Forge.

The new bows added through this mod is as follows, crafting recipes are also shown:

Normal Bow (same as the default, only now it requires and additional leather to craft)

Longbow (shoots arrows further)

Recurve Bow (shoots arrows faster, in exchange for lower durability, just requires a used Normal Bow to craft)
Better Archery Mod

Yumi (shoots further the Recurve Bow and faster than the Longbow, with the same durability as the Longbow and Normal Bow)
Better Archery Mod

Composite Bow (fastest bow of them all, also the one that is hardest to craft)

To craft the extra stuff needed for this bow, use the following recipes:
First, Sinew:

Then, bottled rotten flesh:

Finally, some Hide Glue:

Another feature of this mod is that bows can be restrung when they break, meaning you don’t lose your bow when it breaks. All this requires is that you have 3 string in your inventory, and then pull back the bow to restring it.
Any enchantments are lost when this is done however.

The mod also adds several new types of ammo to Minecraft, as shown below:

First, the most basic of the new arrows, the Fire Arrow, they light stuff on fire:

The Timed Explosive Arrow, explodes after around 1.5 seconds, do not stick to surfaces, and have a big explosion, similar to Creepers:

The Impact Explosive Arrow, which explodes on impact with a mob or a surface, not as deadly as the timed variant:

The Torch Arrow, a cool arrow that places torches wherever it hits, it can even place several torches on the same block, although this does not increase lightning more than if only 1 torch was placed there:

The Ender Arrow, this one teleports you to wherever it hits:

The Drill Arrow, drills through up to 6 blocks, and also drills through mobs while damaging them, allowing you to damage several if they are lined up. Can be reused if you pick them back up and craft them with a new flint tip:

Finally, the potion arrows, these will hit the target with the same effect as the potion they were crafted with, so if you use poison they will be poisoned, if you use healing they will be healed:

This one does splash damage:

You can also craft several arrows into a bundle of arrows, that will fire 3 or 6 of the same arrows at once, like this:

The mod also adds quivers to the game. These new quivers allows you to shoot faster, can hold 4×16 stacks of arrows, and allows you to easier switch between the available arrows by using the “+” or “-” buttons on your keyboard (default bindings). To put arrows in your quiver, simply right click while holding it in your hands. These quivers can also be dyed. Here are the recipe for them, and the one for dying them:

To dye, first dye it grey with 3 bonemeal:

Then you can dye it with various colors, such as green:

Mobs can also spawn with the new bows, so they might be harder, but the reward will also be greater.

Finally, the quivers also come with a new GUI, allowing you to easier see the arrows you have available.

Here are some screenshots of the new GUI, first one showing the arrows in the top of the screen, then one of the quiver GUI:
